Plastic Outboard Propeller Design - Innovative New Designs Make Today's Outboard Paddle Systems Efficient

A Plastic Outboard Propulsion (OPP) system consists of a number of different devices all connected to the same central unit, which is generally a small oil tank.plastic outboard propeller The OLP system is commonly used for small scale recreational boating applications such as pleasure craft such as sailboats and canoe boats. The device utilizes the force of the wind to generate the forward and turning force for the boat. In addition, the system can also be utilized to provide counter-clockwise propulsion. This invention has given birth to a new class of small-scale vessels called the Plastic Outboard Paddle.

The latest advancement in the field of OLP is known as the Tri-Band Direct Drives (TDD) system. It utilizes three separate channels to deliver the three power requirements needed to drive the motor. The first channel delivers high-speed electric propulsion that is necessary for high horsepower applications while the second and third channels provide slower speed power that is required for small-scale designs and applications. A very recent advance in the plastic outboard propeller industry is the availability of a high-speed electric motor with four horsepower outputs. These motors are typically fed through a Triton-type water pump.

Another improvement in the plastic outboard propeller industry is the availability of the high-performance OLP based Slip-N Tune system. This improved outboard propeller system delivers the power that is needed for the most demanding commercial applications. This invention allows for the incorporation of Slip-N Tune into the design of the vessel. The Slip-N Tune system includes an innovative dual-axis Triton water pump that is capable of delivering three horsepower outputs. These systems are not only highly reliable but also offer the best value of the dollar when compared to their competition.

The present invention provides a number of advantages over the prior art. First, it provides a much larger drive shaft for greater horsepower capability. Second, the improved drive shaft enables the use of a larger number of blade widths in the same overall size.

Further, the improved design provides for optimized aerodynamic characteristics for improved fuel efficiency and reduction in air drag. Third, the design provides for optimized positioning of the hub and blade inboard relative to the centerline. These improvements allow for optimized thrust between the nacelle and the hull. Further, the optimized placement of the hub and blade inboard relative to the centerline allows for optimized energy distribution on the straights. This optimized energy distribution greatly reduces the occurrence of hydrostatic pressure on the outer edges of the wings.

Plastic outboard propellers now have far more capability than the prior art had when it came to delivering excellent results. In particular, the new slip-type props have been proven to be far superior to prior art designs in terms of both thrusting force and efficiency in energy distribution. Additionally, they provide an increased degree of dynamic control as they help guide the craft during flight. All in all, this new class of prop driven devices has made modern watercraft easy to operate and has drastically reduced the occurrence of mechanical failures.
