Important Features Of A Johnson-Frazer Outboard Motor Carburetor

The Outboard Motor Carburetor has been designed for boats with outboard motor drive and is used to control the movement of the inboard motor. This device facilitates the control of the engine power and the gear changes by initiating a series of pressure blanks, which in turn change the air pressure. This device may be used as an idle speed controller on power yacht or a utility model boat with outboard motor.

The inboard motor is connected to the carburetor with the help of carbide tubes and float bowls. The carburetors have a hole at the bottom and are attached to the outboard motor with the help of air hose and carbide tubes. There are generally three types of carburetors available in the market and they are discussed below. These carburetors include forged ones, pressed brakes and journal brakes. Each of these carburetors varies in its characteristics and mechanism, which lead to their respective uses.

A pressed brake or journal brake is an idle speed controller that is used in boats with outboard motor. It allows the driver to regulate the engine idle speed depending upon the demand of the driver. It has adjustable valves and carbide tubes with a fixed bite height. In utility models, this carburetor main body is made of high-grade polyethylene, stainless steel or high-carbon steel and is placed in a sealed aluminum housing.

A forged outboard motor carburetor is a utility model that allows the user to adjust its idle speed controller. It has valve adjustments with variable damping to allow sufficient pressure buildup at the intake and exhaust ports. This device in a utility model is similar to that of the journal brake.

A Johnson-evinrude outboard motor carburetor is an upgraded version of the basic outboard motor carburetor. Its basic structure is similar to that of the pressed brake or journal brake wherein the valve adjustments are done by a screw thread on the carbide tubes. However, instead of mounting the valve housing in the conventional manner, the screws are fastened on the side of the tubes. The carbide tubes are then fastened in a threaded pattern inside the housing.

A Johnson Devinrude outboard motor carburetor is a utility model outboard motor that has an idle speed controller. The device has adjustable idle speed controls depending on the requirement of the user and is installed in the same manner as the pressed brake or journal brakes. Unlike the utility model, this carburetor main body is not milled. Instead, it is made out of heavy duty aluminum alloys. In addition to the large diameter alloy wheels, the device also comes with large diameter bolts and thick bolts and screws that are guaranteed to last for a long time.
