How to Connect the Mercury Outboard Throttle Control Box to Your Car

If you own a marine diesel engine or an outboard motor, you will need to have a mercury outboard throttle control box installed before you put it on the boat. The box is a safety device that protects the engine from being damaged by high pressure oil that drips from the outboard motor. It also makes sure that the oil doesn't enter into the engine casing, which could cause serious damage and potential explosion. If you don't have a box and the engine is working properly, it's very dangerous to drive it, but if you have a box then you can be safe and confident that the engine will not explode when it is driven.

When you are looking for a mercury outboard throttle control box you can either buy it direct from the manufacturer or you can buy it second hand from a dealer or a private seller on the internet. The second hand boxes are usually much cheaper than the direct buying ones because they are generally used and refurbished. I would always suggest that you buy a new quicksilver outboard throttle box even if you buy it second hand. I would only recommend that you buy a quicksilver second hand box from a reputable dealer that has a history of selling quality products. You don't want to end up buying a quicksilver box that has been sitting on a store shelf for a couple of years and has developed all kinds of problems.

As well as the main box, there are three other parts which make up the complete system which includes the three cables, the fan, the oil filter and the gaskets. These cables will need to be fitted into the correct places on your motor outboards so that your engine will work correctly. The fan will be fitted with the gaskets, which are one part of the electrical component, and the filters will help to keep your engine clean and well oiled. The motor outboards have three screws which will have to be loosened before tightening the cable clamp and the oil drain clamps.

All these cables are soldered to the outer cover and must be tightly fitted to prevent any damage. The three cables are connected to the fan housing itself and this is where you will start to work on the motors. The first thing to do is to loosen all the screws on the fan housing and remove the three wires from the cable harness. You will now need to identify the three wires and connect them to the corresponding Mercury Outboard Throttle Control Box accordingly. If you are not sure how to connect the wires or what you are doing, you can contact a professional at your local mechanic shop.

You will next need to connect the teleflex together. If your teleflex did not come with cables, you will have to buy some teleflex cables from a local supplier. Once you have completed connecting all the teleflex wires to the three cables, you will want to tighten the four wires which are on the outer cover of the box. These wires will need to be tightened as much as possible. After you have completed this step, you will need to connect the throttle control cables to the box together. Once all these steps are complete, you can switch on the fan housing and test it to ensure that everything is working correctly.

It is important to note that if you are having problems with your outboard throttles and your motor has trouble starting, you should immediately check the three mercury choke cables and other connections to make sure that they are all connected safely. If there is a problem with any of the connections, you will need to consult the manufacturer's instructions for the proper replacement. If you follow the instructions that are provided with your hazardous situation Mercury Outboard throttle Control Box, you will end up having a much smoother experience at your local auto parts store.
