Tips on Finding the Right Aluminum Prop

The aluminum propellers used by pilots around the world are very durable.aluminum propeller With an aluminum prop, you'll almost always be able to plan on having the propellers repaired in one of the many aluminum propellers repair stores around the world. If you hit dirt, sand, rocks and dirt you will be able to trust that your propellers will be in good working order for long periods of time. While an aluminum prop may not be the best material for something as heavy as a helicopter, if it's something light like a lawnmower or a snow blower, it can be quite resilient. When you are shopping around for the best materials for a heavy duty prop, always take into account that they can take a lot of abuse.

With an aluminum prop if you crash into concrete, sand or even sand and sometimes concrete, you might have to replace the entire prop.aluminum propeller aluminum propeller With a stainless steel prop you might be able to cut through most of it without any damage to the prop itself. The problem with steel is that they wear out easily. So while you will get a prop made from aluminum that is still relatively new that's going to last you a long time, you will find that when you have more expensive props, they will have to be replaced much faster.

When you are looking for a prop for a helicopter, there are generally two types of aluminum prop that you will see. One is the heavier duty type that is intended for flying a helicopter, usually about one pound. They are typically made out of aluminum, steel and carbon fiber composites. They are often much lighter than the ones for helicopters that are designed for racing and are much larger.

The other type of aluminum prop that you might find is the low performance type, usually one inch or less. They are made out of carbon fiber composites and usually are not nearly as strong as the more expensive models.

There are some instances where a prop is only used once, so you may want to consider saving the prop. You can always sell it at auction online, garage sales or swap meets, but you are usually not getting a lot of use out of the prop. Even if you do sell it online, the prop might be too small for you to use for an aircraft because the wheels on most planes are usually made for much larger props and so is the prop on most helicopters.

You can also find an aluminum prop that's smaller than a prop made out of steel. These are typically called micro-prop engines. Many hobbyists and RC pilots prefer these types of prop because they are easier to install and use.
